Let's Find Peace Together

REAL RELATIONSHIPS

Get you somebody that you can find peace with like Shelah Marie and Ace Hood did. The wellness expert/influencer and rapper have mastered the art of not being each other’s peace (because no one can be that for you 24/7), but of finding peace together. How did they do it? Through practices like yoga and meditation. Think of how much closer our relationships can be if we were to get to that level of emotional awareness and intimacy together. Now that’s #GOALS.

I LOOK LIKE BAE

Every week, we’ll be highlighting singles with the aim of sparking a love connection. Could the person below be the one for you? Shoot them a DM. Or, do you know someone who may be good for this week’s highlight? Spread love!

Alaya // 25 // Philadelphia, PA // Marketing Associate

What are you looking for in a partner?: I am looking for a partner who wants to be a husband and who wants to build generational wealth, a legacy with a child/ren, and break any and all “generational curses”. I am also looking for a man who is God fearing.

Life goals: Building a home from the ground up, becoming financially free WITH my partner, being the best mother I can be when God grants me that blessing.

Why are you single?: I concluded a relationship of 8 years, and needed to heal from that, and focus on a few things I wanted to accomplish.

Accomplishments: I have a Bachelors in Marketing Advertising & Public Relations from Temple University, and I have a credit score in the 700s. I also have a black belt in Shotokan Karate, and was East Coast Sparring Champion for 3 years in a row.

BLACK IN BUSINESS

How have y'all been spending your quaran-time? Hopefully by taking good care of yourselves and enjoying the slower pace. If you’re looking for something new to do with your loved ones, try Black Out. It’s a card game that’s a lot like one we all know (Taboo), but the clues and answers are Black AF. Go ahead and make that move to add this to your collection. You’ll thank us for it later.

VERY IMPORTANT NEWS

Did you miss “Homeschool,” the party of the weekend? No, we’re not talking about the club. We’re talking about DJ D-Nice’s IG Live that had all of the internet grooving to the same beat at the same time for as many as 10-hours at a time. Imagine partying with Michelle Obama, Steph Curry, and Rihanna. That’s the type of cyber party you missed. Check D-Nice’s Instagram for deets on the next one. It’s a great way to pass the time indoors.

Just in time for Women’s History Month, Netflix debuted “Self Made,” a limited series inspired by the life of Madam CJ Walker. Have you watched yet? In a world where so many of us are bosses or aspire to be, it only makes sense that we have the story of one of the best to do it on screen as inspiration.
